Dissecting the Details: Glamorous Kitchens

This is a fairly new site and I’ve written more about  glamorous design than I have about real estate. But I ran across this great post featuring another one of my favorite designers, Windsor Smith so I had to share. The guest author,  Nancy dissects the elements  used in Smith’s various kitchens and offers budget-friendly alternatives. The marble walls are not practical or affordable for me at this time, but I am eyeing the drum shade light fixtures and polished nickel shelves

Hey, it’s a new year coming up, I say go for the glam or better yet, buy a home with a new kitchen.

To help you navigate the home buying process and assist you in choosing a really cool kitchen, please call us at 301-613-7257, we’d love to help.

Swooning For Pink

With winter approaching,  it’s time to incorporate darker colors into  my decorating scheme. Toss a few dark grey pillows here and change the lamp shades to black.

However, after viewing these lovely images, which reaffirms my love of all things pink….those dark pillows will be placed on hold.

So what are your thoughts on pink for the home, love it or leave it?

Now is a Good Time to Sell

In DC and surrounding suburbs, the competition to buy remains relatively high due to the low inventory of homes on the market. This shortage of quality homes is creating problems for would be home buyers who are pushing home prices up due to this lack of inventory.

These higher home prices are finally generating equity for many homeowners after years of a dismal market.  With competition high and an increase in prices, many homeowners are finally able to sell their homes without bringing money to the settlement table.

With low supply, steady demand and low interest rate, now is a great time to consider selling.

If you are thinking of selling or just want to know market conditions in your area, please email or give us a call.
